Fun with my GO-PRO

Different cameras have different personallities and invoke different kind of images to be made.
This week I spent my 33rd birthday cycling around Penang Island in Malaysia with a go-pro and had lots of fun and shot a lot of stills and video i would never have shot with my DSLR workhorse.
It was really refreshing to feel like I was playing, rather than working, with a camera again.
Can see more video from this trip in my Penang Vimeo album

Just finished the Higashikawa Photo festival.

There were 8 major exhibitions for the Higashikawa award winners,
plus about 40 street exhibitions, many portfolio reviews, speakers and panels, and a few contests.

I showed my images from Daisetsuzan National Park at one of the street exhibition, got a few free portfolio reviews and Nikon made a display and explanation of my body of work on the Kachin that won an award from Nikon last year.
There were many great photographers from all levels and genres.
A few of the many interesting photographers i met were Masako Imaoko, Kazuyoshi Nomachi, Kenji UsudaDodo Arata
I learned and enjoyed a lot.   Thanks to everyone who made the festival possible.
